The People with the Grow How

SUMMER HEAT & HUMITITY = FUNGUS

With the heat and humidity of Durban, the growth of parasitic fungi can cause a problem for soft herbaceous plants and turf grasses. If fungal infections do occur, remember to treat them timeously to prevent the spread of disease. Dollar spot in turf is a particular problem for well maintained short cut turf (like on bowling greens).

The treatment of the soil with a residual Chlorothalonil-based fungicide such as Odeon or Bravo will prevent root and crown infection for up to 2 months. Remember that prevention is better than cure, so if this is something that plagues your turf year on year… Treat Now!
